Other skills development:
Students will develop a range of academic skills such as academic writing and research. The course is focused on employment and students will have the opportunity to develop employability skills that will help them access the workplace and develop sustainable careers in the rail industry.
The course gives you a great platform and means you have a variety of options when you finish – you could go straight into employment, apply for a level 4 or 5 higher apprenticeship, or progress on to a full-time year at level 5 (foundation degree), which could then lead to an undergraduate degree.
A full Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (i.e. a STEM subject)
Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C / Grade 4 or above
The College uses subject matter experts from the industry to support the delivery of specialist aspects of the course. This provides access to real industry experience and expertise. There is a four week work placement at the end of the year for students that have finished all assignment work
