Birmingham & Doncaster Campus Open Days
CHOOSE YOUR CONNECTION AT THE NATIONAL COLLEGE FOR HIGH SPEED RAIL’S OPEN DAYS
The National College for High Speed Rail hosts Open Days at the Birmingham and Doncaster campuses several times throughout the academic year.
The events are the perfect opportunity to find out more about the higher education full-time courses available for learners aged 18 and over. Visitors are able to tour the state-of-the-art facilities, experience the specialist learning equipment such as VR/AR, CAD/CAM, and even hop on board a former Eurostar power car, as well as having the opportunity to speak to curriculum staff and attend a Q&A session with current students.
Employers from the industry who work closely with the college will also be on hand so you can gain a real insight into the industry, and find out about the career opportunities that are available.
My biggest achievement so far has been securing an apprenticeship with Balfour Beatty from my first interview, especially as I was the first female on the course and had little knowledge of the industry when starting.
My experience at the National College for High Speed Rail so far has broadened my knowledge within engineering especially the rail industry. I enjoy going on the site and finding out how other companies are involved within the new High Speed Rail project.
Every day is different - there are days that are challenging and there are times where I have the chance to reflect upon the skills I have gained and apply them in real-world environments.
